The Peer Support Specialist position at the Clay County Health Department is a full-time role focused on providing support to individuals and families affected by substance use disorders. The specialist will facilitate referrals to community resources addressing social, mental, and physical health needs, and will collaborate with local law enforcement to assist justice-involved individuals in accessing necessary care and services.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to individuals and families with substance use disorders.
- Make referrals to community resources for social, mental, and physical health needs.
- Collaborate with the local sheriff's office and detention center to assist justice-involved persons.
- Link individuals with resources and services based on their needs and availability.
Requirements
- High school graduation with Peer Support Specialist certification.
- Previous experience in harm reduction or peer support services preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure and multitask.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Current driver's license.
