About the position

The Peer Tutor position in the Math Active Learning Lab (MALL) is designed for students who are passionate about mathematics and eager to assist their peers in enhancing their understanding of mathematical concepts. As a Peer Tutor, you will work closely with fellow students, providing guidance and support in various math subjects, including algebra, calculus, and statistics. In this position, you will be expected to assess the individual needs of students and tailor your tutoring approach accordingly. Additionally, you will collaborate with faculty members to stay updated on course materials and ensure that your tutoring aligns with the curriculum. The Peer Tutor position requires a commitment of 5-15 hours per week, allowing for flexibility in your schedule while balancing academic responsibilities. This is a remote position, which means you will be able to conduct tutoring sessions online, making it accessible for students who may prefer virtual assistance. However, it is important to note that this position does not offer any benefits and is classified as non-exempt, meaning you are eligible for overtime pay if you exceed the standard working hours.
