About the position

The Pega Developer role at Apexon involves designing and developing complex requirements within Pega applications to meet business goals. The position requires strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and resolving production incidents, ensuring compliance with functional and non-functional requirements, and mentoring other software engineers in CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex requirements in Pega applications.
  • Perform triage and resolve escalated production incidents and application monitoring.
  • Ensure software meets functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements.
  • Design solutions with maintainability and ease of integration in mind.
  • Troubleshoot application issues, coding bugs, and bottlenecks.
  • Code solutions and unit test to deliver requirements per defined acceptance criteria.
  • Design, develop, and modify architecture components and application interfaces.
  • Mentor software engineers and coach teams on CI/CD practices.
  • Execute story refinement, define requirements, and estimate work for delivery.
  • Perform spikes/proofs of concept to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
  • Automate manual release activities.

Requirements

  • CSSA certification in PEGA 7.X or 8.x.
  • 5+ years of hands-on development experience in PEGA.
  • Advanced query and programming skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and technical judgment.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies with Scrum and Kanban teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proactive personality with a proven track record of delivering on responsibilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Agile Scrum experience.
  • Familiarity with Jira.
  • Experience with Splunk.
  • Knowledge of Kafka and Hadoop.
  • Experience with reports and Selenium.
  • Familiarity with Microservices and APIs.
  • Experience in deployment automation and unit test automation.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools.
