About the position

The Pega - PL/SQL Developer role is a hybrid position based in Tampa, Florida, focused on developing and maintaining software solutions using Pega and PL/SQL. The position requires a strong background in database management and software development, with responsibilities that include leading projects, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring high-quality code production. The role also involves transitioning from Oracle to PostgreSQL and moving to AWS cloud services in the near future.

Responsibilities

• Execute standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Write secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance.
• Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications.
• Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation.
• Apply technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity.
• Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience with Pega v8.4 and up required.
• Oracle PL/SQL required; Postgres knowledge is nice to have.
• Strong database skills required.
• Knowledge of AWS is preferred as the company is moving from private cloud to AWS in 2026.
• Experience working with Java is a plus.
• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience is required.
• Demonstrated understanding of overall software skills including business analysis, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and improvement of software.

Nice-to-haves

• Pega Certifications are nice to have.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Proficient in Pega development as well as multiple design techniques.
• Working proficiency in the Pega toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software.
