About the position

The PEIMS Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate student data within the district's student information system. This position involves entering, verifying, and managing various types of student information, including personal details, course enrollments, grades, attendance, and disciplinary records. The assistant will also support the PEIMS Coordinator in training and compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to state regulations and providing assistance to staff regarding PEIMS data requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Enter, verify, and maintain accurate student data in the district's student information system.
  • Produce and distribute state-mandated verification reports for all areas of PEIMS data.
  • Assist the PEIMS Coordinator in planning and implementing training workshops.
  • Distribute state rules and regulations to personnel as directed by the PEIMS Coordinator.
  • Provide support to personnel regarding PEIMS data requirements and eSchool PEIMS software.
  • Troubleshoot data issues and collaborate with staff to resolve problems related to student data.
  • Produce Cognos reports as needed for PEIMS data requests.
  • Perform data entry of PEIMS data as required.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to all stakeholders.
  • Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and local board policy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience in PEIMS requirements for student, personnel, payroll, and finance preferred.
  • Experience in the use of eSchool and Cognos software preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in data entry of information into computer databases.
  • Strong communication skills with personnel at all levels.
  • Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational, written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in educational data management systems.
  • Familiarity with state education regulations and compliance.
