About the position

This position is hybrid remote and requires three days onsite in the DMV area (Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern VA). PRISM is seeking a relentless and innovative Penetration Tester to join our elite cybersecurity team. As a pivotal member of our organization, you'll be the frontline defense against cyber threats. In this role, you will have the opportunity to think like an attacker, exploit vulnerabilities, and protect our digital assets from harm. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive penetration tests on networks, systems, and applications to identify and exploit vulnerabilities. You will also be expected to research and implement new hacking techniques and tools to stay ahead of evolving threats. Additionally, you will develop and execute innovative testing methodologies to assess the effectiveness of security controls. Clear communication is essential, as you will need to articulate complex technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences through detailed reports and presentations. Collaboration is key, and you will work closely with development, IT, and security teams to remediate vulnerabilities and enhance the overall security posture of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive penetration tests on networks, systems, and applications to identify and exploit vulnerabilities.
  • Research and implement new hacking techniques and tools to stay ahead of evolving threats.
  • Develop and execute innovative testing methodologies to assess the effectiveness of security controls.
  • Clearly articulate complex technical findings to technical and non-technical audiences through detailed reports and presentations.
  • Collaborate with development, IT, and security teams to remediate vulnerabilities and enhance overall security posture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or a related field and five (5) years or more experience; or a Master's degree and three (3) years or more experience.
  • 4-6+ years of penetration testing experience.
  • Proven experience in penetration testing methodologies, including network, application, and infrastructure assessments.
  • Strong understanding of hacking tools and techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for uncovering vulnerabilities.
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues clearly and concisely.
  • Collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
