About the position

The Penetration Tester at Leidos will be a key member of the Digital Modernization Team, focusing on enhancing the security posture of the Department of Homeland Security's Customs and Border Protection Security Operations Center. This role involves conducting various penetration tests, including cloud, web application, and physical tests, to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies. The position requires a strong background in cybersecurity, particularly in penetration testing, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to senior officials.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cloud penetration tests and act as the cloud penetration testing Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the team.
  • Conduct internal and external penetration tests against systems to identify vulnerabilities and provide mitigation strategies.
  • Execute web application penetration tests.
  • Conduct vulnerability risk assessments.
  • Perform physical penetration tests and social engineering assessments.
  • Engage in cyber incident response as needed for programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 8 to 12 years of professional experience; or 6 to 10 years of professional experience with a Master's degree.
  • At least 6 years of penetration testing experience with a minimum of 2 years in cloud penetration testing.
  • Proficiency in testing Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS infrastructure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of Cyber Kill Chain & Intelligence Defense.
  • Ability to brief senior officials on penetration testing requirements and results.
