About the position

The Penetration Tester at Booz Allen Hamilton is responsible for identifying vulnerabilities in computer systems, applications, servers, and networks using various penetration testing tools and techniques. This role involves applying functional and industry knowledge to develop solutions for moderate complexity problems, working independently with some guidance, and mentoring junior employees.

Responsibilities

• Identify and exploit vulnerabilities in systems using penetration testing tools.
• Develop and contribute to solutions for security-related problems.
• Review and guide activities of junior employees.
• Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences through reports and presentations.

Requirements

• Experience with identifying and exploiting vulnerable services using custom or publicly available exploits.
• Experience using a basic scripting language, including Python, Ruby, Perl, or Bash.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows system administration.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory basics.
• Knowledge of fundamental computer security concepts and terminology.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences in written reports and presentations.
• Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of experience in Cybersecurity in lieu of a degree.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Nessus or other vulnerability scanner.
• Experience with Burp Suite or other web proxy tool.
• Knowledge of common database management systems.
• OSCP or GPEN Certification.
