About the position

iNovex is seeking a Penetration Tester to break into computer systems and applications, ultimately helping to enhance their security. The Penetration Tester will play a vital role in ensuring mission success through Security Engineering, Vulnerability Testing, Penetration Testing, Risk Management and Assessment, Insider Threat Analysis, and IT Policies and Procedures. The goal is to break into computer systems and applications to identify vulnerabilities and help secure them. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy solving puzzles and finding innovative ways to manipulate systems and software. As a subject matter expert, the Penetration Tester will provide testing expertise of the Risk Management Framework, participating directly in the testing phase of security controls assessments. This will involve utilizing specialized knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, architectures, equipment, services, and standards. Daily activities will include using various tools for vulnerability and penetration testing, meeting with customers to determine the scope of testing, performing network and application-level testing, researching emerging technologies, identifying vulnerabilities, planning and executing Information Assurance evaluation tests, and documenting results formally. The role also requires efficient use of Kali and Unix-type operating systems.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing a wide variety of tools for vulnerability and penetration testing.
  • Meeting with customers as part of certification and accreditation to determine scope of testing and methods applicable.
  • Performing both network and application-level testing using established test protocols and methods.
  • Researching and evaluating emerging technologies relevant to information systems security.
  • Identifying and demonstrating vulnerabilities that may be used by an adversary to exploit components of the target systems.
  • Planning and executing Information Assurance evaluation tests and documenting test results in a formal document.
  • Leading the Information Assurance evaluation of target systems, including developing threat models, conducting security analysis and testing, demonstrating vulnerabilities and documenting the results.
  • Efficient use of Kali and Unix type operating systems.

Requirements

  • BS degree & 8 years of relevant experience
  • 8570 IAT Level III Certification
  • Candidate will be required to successfully complete a background investigation.
