About the position

The People and Professional Supports Manager at the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) is responsible for directing division-wide strategies to enhance and support the workforce within the Public Health Division. This role involves overseeing workforce development, staff outreach, engagement initiatives, and collaboration with academic partners. The manager will lead a professional team, ensuring effective implementation of strategies that foster a culture of belonging and operational excellence across the division.

Responsibilities

• Manage a professional team and oversee strategic planning implementation.
• Coordinate and implement workforce development and staff engagement initiatives.
• Supervise staff responsible for developing internal strategies and objectives related to workforce development.
• Collaborate with managers, federal agency partners, local government officials, and community leaders to create a comprehensive workforce development strategy.
• Ensure optimal internal communications and employee safety and wellness.

Requirements

• Five years of supervisory or management experience in a public health setting or closely related field.
• Bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, or a closely related field with two years of supervisory or management experience.
• Experience in project management and organizational skills.
• Strong presentation skills and ability to deliver policy and program recommendations.
