About the position

The People Application Developer at Snap Inc. is responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions that enhance the People Team's capabilities. This role involves collaborating with various teams to understand product requirements, advocating for best practices, and managing automation roadmaps. The developer will focus on building scalable and efficient solutions, integrating AI technologies, and mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Work across teams to understand product requirements and deliver necessary solutions.
  • Advocate for best practices in availability, scalability, and operational excellence.
  • Manage automation roadmap and lead technical direction for People Team solutions.
  • Design and develop large-scale solutions with a focus on efficiency and maintainability.
  • Build automations to optimize People Team solutions and integrate AI solutions into systems.
  • Conduct regular testing and debugging to ensure functionality of solutions.
  • Lead and mentor junior team members, delegating tasks effectively.
  • Design middleware solutions for chatbot integration using APIs.
  • Enable chatbots to automate tasks within Workday and build custom automation workflows.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure smooth functionality of chatbot solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience with Node.js, JavaScript, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with backend services or distributed systems.
  • Ability to independently execute medium-sized features.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influence skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with Typescript, SQL, and NoSQL solutions.
  • Experience with Workday integrations and automations.
  • Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and design concepts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Proven track record of building applications from scratch.
