About the position

The People Communications Manager at Etsy is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that engage and inform a globally distributed employee base. This role supports the People + Workplace team and collaborates with various departments to ensure effective communication of critical programs and initiatives. The position requires a strong background in internal communications, particularly within a fast-paced tech environment, and aims to enhance employee experiences through effective messaging and knowledge management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the communication strategy and execution of critical evergreen people programs.
  • Support the strategy for rolling out brand new programs.
  • Oversee knowledge management tools to ensure employees have the necessary information.
  • Lead key communications initiatives that engage a global audience.
  • Develop and edit company-wide communications, including emails, presentations, and user guides.
  • Support the design and execution of People + Workplace Office Hours.
  • Manage the internal communications calendar for holistic visibility of messages.
  • Capture feedback and identify ways to measure and improve communication effectiveness.
  • Own governance and improvements to knowledge management tools, including the company-wide intranet.
  • Advise senior leaders on effective change management and communication best practices.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in internal communications or people communications in a fast-paced tech company.
  • High standards for excellence and attention to detail in communication.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere, or Canva is a plus.
  • Ability to distill complex ideas into clear communications.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience working across multiple time zones and cultures.
