About the position

The People & Culture Business Partner (PCBP) position at the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is a pivotal role that focuses on aligning the People & Culture (P&C) and organizational objectives with the needs of employees and leadership within designated business units. This position serves as a consultant to management on various human resource-related issues, assessing and anticipating HR-related needs while proactively communicating with both the P&C department and the management of the business units. The PCBP is responsible for developing integrated solutions that reflect the business objectives of the organization, ensuring that the P&C function delivers value-added services to both management and employees. In this role, the PCBP will collaborate closely with various teams within the P&C function, including Total Rewards, People Technology, Talent Acquisition, and Organizational Development & Learning, to advance the strategic goals and initiatives of the P&C team. The position requires conducting periodic meetings with assigned business units, providing day-to-day guidance on performance management, talent acquisition, promotions, transfers, and workforce planning. Additionally, the PCBP will work to improve work relationships, build morale, and enhance productivity and retention through interpersonal and team development activities. The PCBP will also conduct and facilitate training across the organization on P&C policies and will be an integral part of P&C initiatives, including climate and culture surveys and exit surveys. Maintaining in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the management of employees is crucial, as is partnering with the Integrity & Risk department and General Counsel as needed. The role may also involve performing other duties as assigned, making it a dynamic and engaging position within WWF.

Responsibilities

  • Consults with senior leadership and line management, providing P&C policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Conducts periodic meetings with assigned business units.
  • Provides day-to-day guidance to line management on performance management, talent acquisition, promotions, transfers, and workforce planning.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Conducts interpersonal and team development activities.
  • Conducts and facilitates training across the organization on P&C policies.
  • Serves as an integral part of P&C initiatives, including climate/culture surveys and exit surveys.
  • Partners and collaborates with other units in the P&C Team to coordinate work and develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Partners with the Integrity & Risk department and General Counsel as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 8 years of experience in Human Resources as a generalist.
  • Experience managing the full cycle of Human Resources processes and policies.
  • Working knowledge of appropriate HR laws and regulations.
  • Additional experience in People & Culture (HR) specialty areas such as performance management, diversity and inclusion, workforce planning, training and development, mediation, and employee relations is a plus.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to mediate is critical.
  • Comfort with coaching through difficult situations and the ability to coach up.
  • Desire and comfort working with a portfolio of clients dispersed throughout the U.S.
  • Experience working in a mid to large sized HR team is desired, but not required.
