About the position

As a People Operations Benefits Leader, you will oversee the daily operations related to Health & Welfare and Retirement benefits for employees in the U.S. and Canada. This role focuses on ensuring excellent program administration, compliance, and user-friendly operations while reporting to the Global Benefits Leader. You will be responsible for implementing plan offerings, managing vendor relationships, and supporting the overall employee experience through effective communication and administration of benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Manage People Operations, USCA to ensure excellent program administration and customer service to all participants in the US and Canada.
  • Implement all plan offerings and plan design changes as directed by Strategy.
  • Responsible for plan administration at a first level by delivering on administration and inquiries of welfare and retirement plans.
  • Support vendor relationships by reviewing SLAs and metrics, performing ongoing audits, reporting trends to Strategy, maintaining accurate participant eligibility and participating in calls as needed.
  • Manage the Health & Welfare benefits administration system by reviewing PPG initiatives with the vendor and implementing streamlined and user-friendly processes.
  • Execute successful election periods on an annual basis for all eligible participants.
  • Support the review of all PPG communications and Summary Plan Descriptions and offer recommendations based on benefits knowledge as well as the overall employee experience.
  • Administer the delivery of all PPG communications and Summary Plan Descriptions to participants as instructed by Strategy.
  • Manage the online benefits portal content as directed by Strategy.
  • Ensure all compliance actions are completed, including 5500s, state reporting, 1095s, etc.
  • Support all acquisitions and divestitures by building and executing implementation of the PPG welfare and retirement benefits.
  • Support the Labor team by providing negotiation data support and executing on the implementation of the contract results.
  • Collaborate with the Americas Operations team to ensure alignment as well as awareness of ongoing activities within each area.
  • Represent the organization in interactions with external parties in order to protect PPG's interests and reputation.

Requirements

  • BS/BA Degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business, or related.
  • 10+ years of experience with U.S. benefits; Experience with Canada benefits is a plus.
  • Prior experience managing a team of professionals; 5-10 direct reports and 10-15 indirect reports.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to understand the inquiry/problem and drive towards resolution.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to research multiple documents, systems and resources to ensure accuracy.
  • Ability to think about the user experience to ensure all processes are executed with ease and consistency.
  • Experience working with computer systems such as Oracle, Microsoft Suite and Workday is preferred.
  • Driver of a strong team environment that will foster collaboration among the Operations team.
  • Act honestly and professionally with discretion to participant´s sensitive information.
