About the position

The People Operations Director at United Energy Workers Healthcare is responsible for overseeing the People Operations team and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures. This role involves developing and implementing personnel systems and strategies, managing HR functions, and assisting the VP of People Ops with various tasks. The position emphasizes the importance of effective communication, collaboration, and maintaining confidentiality in all operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement people ops policies for the entire organization in collaboration with compliance and operations teams.
  • Ensure that the company remains in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the People Operations team, including professional development and training.
  • Supervise daily workflows and train the People Operations department.
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees, including proper coaching and performance management plans.
  • Plan and execute various HR functions strategically, such as compensation and benefits, performance management, training and development, occupational safety, employee communications, and employee relations.
  • Assist with the development and management of the budget for the People Operations department.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all office and client records by HIPAA and Privacy Act regulations.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with the entire team.
  • Attend all coordinated/mandated in-service education as assigned.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating projects, events, or tasks as directed by the HR leadership team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in the HR field.
  • Education/certification (PHR or SHRM).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
