About the position

The People Operations Generalist at DocGo plays a crucial role in administering and educating employees on People Operations policies and practices. This position is responsible for managing the onboarding experience, supporting recruitment initiatives, and fostering a positive work environment through collaboration with key stakeholders. The Generalist will also handle employee relations, compliance with labor laws, and assist with various HR functions, ensuring a smooth operational flow within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Administers and educates People Operations policies, programs, and practices across dedicated markets.
  • Manage the onboarding experience for new employees, collaborating with IT, Operations, and Training & Education.
  • Establish partnerships with key business stakeholders to foster teamwork and collaboration within the HR team.
  • Support change management initiatives by drafting communications and coaching leaders.
  • Work with People Operations Business partners to diagnose supervisor skill gaps and identify training solutions.
  • Address and assess performance management including coaching, counseling, and performance improvement plans.
  • Support recruitment initiatives including recommending advertisement strategies and interviewing candidates.
  • Create training plans for People Operations and non-People Operations systems and functions.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees, resolving payroll issues and benefit inquiries.
  • Perform monthly audits of new hire data to ensure proper setup in Company systems.
  • Assist with new hire orientation and ensure required training is completed.
  • Manage maintenance of personnel/medical files and E-Verify administration.
  • Assist with Workers Compensation, disability, and Leave of Absence Administration.
  • Prepare termination paperwork and conduct exit interviews for voluntary departures.
  • Conduct focus groups and employee engagement initiatives to assess satisfaction and develop action plans.
  • Investigate Employee Relations issues and ensure HR compliance with Employment Laws.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3-5 years Human Resources experience, preferably as an HR Coordinator or Specialist.
  • BA/BS degree (4 year) required; HR Certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, etc.) preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office and HRIS systems (Workday strongly preferred).
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Experience building solid relationships with leaders at all levels.
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze data for decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Well organized, able to prioritize work and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
  • Ability to perform well in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
