About the position

The People Operations/HR Manager at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is a hybrid role focused on leading the People Operations department within the Devereux Education Strategies and Solutions (DESS) team. This position emphasizes servant leadership and collaboration, aiming to support educational programs across the country while ensuring compliance with various regulations. The manager will oversee employee recruitment, retention strategies, and the implementation of HR policies, contributing to a supportive work environment that prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of the DESS People Operations department administration.
  • Participate in the development, planning, and implementation of People Operations policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Identify and utilize best practices in all areas of People Operations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and licensing agency regulations as well as school-based regulations.
  • Maintain personnel records to ensure compliance with DESS and Devereux regulatory mandates.
  • Oversee and actively participate in employee recruiting and hiring practices.
  • Ensure employee hiring and internal processes are followed in areas of recruitment, retention, employee relations, compensation, benefits administration, performance management, employee safety, and workers compensation.
  • Conduct new employee orientation and any other required trainings.
  • Develop and implement retention strategies.
  • Represent DESS through participation in Diversity and Retention Committees and community/civic activities.
  • Lead and consult on salary administration and recommend appropriate salary actions.
  • Manage and analyze costing data in the People Operations Management Systems.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Servant Leadership and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and belonging.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in People Operations/Human Resources or related field; HR Certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years' People Operations/Human Resources experience, preferably in an education setting.
  • People Operations Generalist/Management experience with knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in People Operations/HR/Payroll Information Systems and standard technology (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Superior oral and written communication, analytical, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to function independently and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Broad-based knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation, ERISA, and OSHA regulations.
