About the position

The role of the People Operations leader for GE Vernova is a pivotal position that reports directly to the Head of People Operations. This position is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of People Operations services across North America, ensuring that service performance, compliance, and continuous improvement are at the forefront of operations. The individual will provide thought leadership and strategic direction for the People Operations North Americas and global roadmap, ensuring that solutions are not only developed but also delivered to meet or exceed organizational requirements. In this role, the leader will be accountable for all HR Operations, Payroll, and Benefits service and delivery activities within the region. This includes partnering closely with other HR and Product teams to standardize and digitize processes, driving compliance, productivity, and efficiency. The position requires establishing and running operational delivery across a network of global and virtual locations, optimizing service delivery while maintaining a balance between global scale and local reach. The leader will also be responsible for developing a strategy for an optimized HR Operations ecosystem, which includes building a blended in/outsourced service delivery model aimed at enhancing quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance. A key aspect of this role is to hire, coach, develop, and inspire leaders and teams within the Vernova People Operations North Americas organization, fostering a culture of transparency, collaboration, inclusion, and innovation. Additionally, the role involves driving continuous improvement in service delivery for employees and people leaders by strategically optimizing service offerings, addressing local needs while aligning with global strategies, and enhancing the employee experience through effective case management during significant life events. The leader will also manage operational performance metrics, forecast demand changes, and ensure the People Operations organization remains proactive and agile in its approach. Collaboration with peers, IT, and the business is essential to define strategic priorities for the regional team, which will encompass policy and process changes, technology enhancements, and new product development, ensuring an optimal delivery model for the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership for the People Operations North Americas and global roadmap for GE Vernova.
  • Accountable for all HR Operations, Payroll and Benefits, service & delivery activities within the region.
  • Partner closely with other HR & Product teams to standardize & digitize processes to drive compliance, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Establish and run operational delivery across a network of global and virtual locations.
  • Develop strategy for an optimized HR Operations ecosystem, building a blended in/outsourced service delivery model.
  • Hire, coach, develop and inspire leaders and teams within the Vernova People Operations North Americas organization.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to employees and continuously raise the bar for talent development.
  • Inspire and guide a growing team; foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, inclusion, innovation, and LEAN.
  • Drive and continuously improve the service for employees and people leaders by optimizing service and driving first-time resolution.
  • Own and manage the full suite of operational performance metrics, ensuring they are relevant against product specifications and service principles.
  • Forecast demand changes and keep the People Operations organization proactive and agile.
  • Deploy resources to serve as case managers to enhance the employee experience through significant life events.
  • Work with the Regional Product Deployment & Service Excellence Leader to drive activity to a self-service model.
  • Leverage innovative technologies to drive productivity and support a multi-location model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or international equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in HR technology, HR operations/people operations/shared services and outsourced HR operations.
  • Significant experience in direct people leadership.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10+ years experience designing and implementing enterprise-wide solutions, leading cross-functional teams.
  • Significant experience and expertise in a Workday HCM and Payroll environment.
  • Excellent consultative skills with proven ability to identify needs, propose solutions, influence, and align stakeholders.
  • Leads with a Lean mindset and is skilled in applying Lean to continually improve operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform inclusively in a diverse environment and to promote inclusion and diversity in the workplace.
