About the position

The People Operations Manager at Fairmarkit will play a crucial role in shaping and enhancing the company's People operations, programs, and processes throughout the employee lifecycle. Reporting directly to the VP of People, this position is integral to improving Fairmarkit's culture and employee experience in a remote-first, global work environment. The role demands strong analytical and communication skills, initiative, and meticulous attention to detail. The successful candidate will frequently visit the vibrant Boston office located at WeWork on Beacon Street to foster a welcoming environment for employees and guests. In this role, the People Operations Manager will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of core People Operations programs. This includes overseeing employee onboarding and offboarding, managing recognition and rewards initiatives, administering benefits and open enrollment, and handling leave of absence programs. The manager will also focus on immigration and global mobility, as well as engagement and culture initiatives, all aimed at enhancing the employee experience and delivering a positive return on investment. The position also involves providing actionable people analytics and insights by creating and presenting dashboards and reports for both internal and external reporting purposes. The manager will analyze data to identify patterns and trends, offering recommendations to the leadership team to drive informed decision-making. Additionally, the role requires overseeing HR systems to ensure data integrity, compliance, and best practices for data accuracy and security. The People Operations Manager will document and communicate core HR processes to stakeholders, ensuring that all HR documentation is meticulously maintained and updated according to the latest legal and regulatory standards. The role also includes supporting and coaching employees on company policies and procedures, resolving challenges, and ensuring a first-class employee experience while safeguarding the company from liability. Compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws is critical, and the manager will conduct regular audits to identify gaps and recommend improvements. Collaboration with the Marketing department for company communication and event coordination is also part of the role, as well as performing office management duties to ensure smooth operations. The manager will lead and contribute to special projects, demonstrating initiative and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of core People Operations programs.

  • Oversee and ensure the integrity of HR systems, including onboarding/offboarding employees.
  • Document, maintain, and communicate core HR processes to stakeholders, managers, and employees.
  • Support and coach employees on company policies and procedures, resolving challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing department for company communication and event coordination.
  • Perform required office management duties, such as managing the WeWork account and organizing events.
  • Lead and contribute to other special projects.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in People/HR functions in global, high-growth companies.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify opportunities for process improvements and solve complex problems.
  • Proven track record of taking initiative and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment, wage, and salary laws across multiple states and at the federal level.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in high-volume environments.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional projects and process improvements.
  • Expertise in HR systems and tools, including implementations.

Nice-to-haves

  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Experience with tools such as Rippling, Lattice, Greenhouse, Pave, Looker, Confluence, Google Suite, and Slack.
