About the position

As a People Operations Manager/Training Manager at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of our employees, ultimately making a positive impact on the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about instruction and dedicated to supporting a workforce of over 600 employees. In this role, you will support the People Operations Director in managing the People Operations function for the Devereux New York center. Your responsibilities will include planning, organizing, and facilitating the new employee orientation program, ensuring that all training programs meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and effectiveness. You will stay informed about the latest learning practices and leverage both internal and external networks of training professionals to introduce innovative ideas and approaches. Compliance with Devereux and regulatory requirements related to orientation and training will be a key focus, as you develop and maintain systems for scheduling, documentation, and record-keeping. Additionally, you will work closely with supervisors and trainers to conduct post-classroom skill checks, assessing competency and ensuring that the skills taught are effectively applied in the workplace. Responsibilities

  • Support the People Operations Director in managing the People Operations function for the Devereux New York center.
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate the new employee orientation program.
  • Ensure that Center trainers and ongoing training programs maintain high levels of quality, safety, and effectiveness.
  • Stay informed about the most current learning practices and utilize internal and external networks of training professionals.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Devereux and regulatory requirements related to orientation and training.
  • Develop and maintain systems for scheduling, documentation, and record-keeping.
  • Conduct post-classroom skill checks to assess competency and ensure skills taught are being used.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Training & Development, or a Human Services field required.
  • Master's degree in Training and Development preferred.
  • At least three years of progressively responsible related experience.
  • Experience in staff training, orientation, and development preferred.
  • Experience with effective learning management systems including documentation and record keeping, tracking, compliance, and strategies to promote learning in the workplace preferred.
  • Prior experience in the behavioral healthcare field is optimal.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and presentation skills.
  • Customer service skills and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to establish a safe, supportive, and ethical learning environment.
  • Collaborative skills to meet the needs of licensors, administrators, program supervisors, and staff.
