As the People Operations Manager, you will report directly to the Chief People Officer and oversee the successful execution of HR processes and technologies to drive an efficient and optimal employee experience at XO Health. Your role will involve implementing new company policies and maintaining internal HR systems, which include compensation and benefits, workers' compensation, onboarding, performance management, and compliance. You will be responsible for establishing key HR metrics that keep a pulse on employee engagement and designing core People Operations programs, including employee onboarding and offboarding, performance and talent management, training, and recognition and rewards initiatives. In this position, you will create a performance management process that incorporates feedback on employee engagement and commitment to the XO culture. You will facilitate the design, development, and administration of compensation and incentive plans that align with the company's values, strategies, and business goals. Conducting periodic audits on benefits and compensation practices to ensure market competitiveness and compliance will also be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will develop an effective onboarding experience that includes expansive training on XO business and culture to ensure a smooth start for employees in their roles. You will oversee the structure and processes for the company's worker's compensation programs, initiating and maintaining relationships with insurance partners, providers, and claims adjusters. As a company liaison, you will work through any service issues or concerns with vendor relationships to foster successful service delivery. Monitoring internal HR systems and databases, establishing budgets for People Operations, designing and implementing company policies, and ensuring compliance with employment laws will be key aspects of your role. You will also supervise leave of absence management and provide guidance, coaching, and support to employees on company policies and procedures. Staying at the forefront of industry trends, conducting ongoing research into emerging trends, issues, and best practices will be essential to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes key HR metrics that include keeping a pulse on employee engagement.
  • Designs and implements core People Operations programs, including employee onboarding and offboarding; performance and talent management; training; and recognition and rewards initiatives.
  • Creates a performance management process that incorporates providing feedback on employee engagement and commitment to XO culture.
  • Facilitates the design, development and administration of compensation and incentive plans and related administrative processes that are aligned to the company's values, strategies and business goals.
  • Conducts periodic audits on benefits and compensation practices to ensure market competitiveness and compliance.
  • Develops an effective and positive onboarding experience that includes expansive training on XO business and culture to ensure a smooth start for employees in their roles.
  • Oversees the structure and processes for the company's worker's compensation programs.
  • Initiates and maintains relationships with insurance partners, providers, claims adjusters, etc.
  • Serves as company liaison working through any service issues or concerns with vendor relationships to foster successful service delivery.

  • Ensures compliance with employment laws (EEO, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, DOL, Worker's Compensation, health & safety).

  • Provides guidance, coaching, and support to employees on company policies and procedures.
  • Stays at the forefront of industry trends, conducting ongoing research into emerging trends, issues and best practices.
  • Provides data analysis and recommendations that effectively support the achievement of employee engagement goals and desired culture at XO.
  • Identifies areas for enhancement and devises strategies to optimize HR processes.
  • Responds to audits, identifies gaps, recommends improvements, and implements changes.
  • Maintains employee records (attendance, EEO data etc.) according to policy and legal requirements.
  • Supports Chief People Officer in special project and HR generalist responsibilities, as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least ten years of related HR experience developing and managing people programs at high-growth companies.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or other related discipline. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Strong knowledge of Human Resources principles and best practices in compensation benefit plan design and administration.
  • Demonstrated experience in employment law compliance across multiple states and at Federal level.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local rules, regulations and/or statutes related to compensation, benefits and payroll.
  • Proficiency in working cross-functionally and partnering with business leaders in an HRBP or similar role.
  • Ability to manage complex workloads, demonstrate initiative, and prioritize among competing objectives.
  • Proven track record of finding innovative solutions and using data-driven insights to solve people-related challenges.
  • Passion for improving efficiency, service, and experience for employees.
  • Proficient in HR systems, including applicant tracking, benefits administration, and other relevant tools.
  • Ability to develop clear and fair company policies.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Customer-service orientation; excellent communications skills; ability to interact effectively and establish cooperative working relationships with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience effectively working with a diverse workforce across multiple locations.
  • Strong and collaborative leadership style adept at cohesively leading employees in multiple different positions.
