About the position

The Manager of People Operations at ACCESS is a pivotal role that focuses on enhancing the organization's employer brand and improving employee performance and experience. This position operates under general supervision and is responsible for tracking and analyzing ACCESS' people metrics to foster productivity and engagement throughout the employee lifecycle. The Manager collaborates with interdepartmental teams to devise strategies aimed at enhancing employee recruitment, engagement, performance, efficiency, development, retention, and customer service. In partnership with the ACCESS leadership team, the Manager will develop and execute comprehensive talent strategies that encompass all aspects of human resources. This includes creating a sustainable employer brand that attracts and retains top talent, fostering a high-performance culture, and establishing productivity and performance benchmarks. The role also involves collecting and measuring relevant people metrics, such as time to hire and employee satisfaction, and developing actionable plans based on these insights. The Manager will design and implement employee development initiatives, including training and mentorship programs, and support continuous improvement processes across the organization. Additionally, the role requires administering the performance management system, coaching supervisors on performance issues, and conducting stay and exit interviews to gain insights into employee experiences. The Manager will also ensure that HR practices are equitable and inclusive, aligning with business priorities, while maintaining compliance with government reporting requirements and staying current with employment laws.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute talent strategies for employee recruitment, engagement, performance, efficiency, development, retention, and customer service.
  • Create a sustainable employer brand to attract and retain top talent.
  • Collaborate with leadership to foster a high-performance culture and establish productivity benchmarks.
  • Collect and measure people metrics, developing action plans based on findings.
  • Design and implement employee development initiatives, including training and mentorship programs.
  • Support continuous improvement processes and facilitate the Quality Improvement Steering Committee.
  • Assist in organizational capacity building and evaluation efforts through a human resources lens.
  • Administer the performance management system, including reviews and appraisals.
  • Coach supervisors on employee performance issues and support HR in employee relations matters.
  • Conduct stay and exit interviews to understand employee experiences and address issues.
  • Modernize HR systems for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Recommend new HR policies and initiatives to support organizational goals.
  • Plan and execute ACCESS events and maintain compliance with government reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • At least four years of experience in human resources, marketing, and/or operations, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Experience leading recruiting, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.

  • Experience in nonprofit organizations.
