About the position

FedEx Supply Chain, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp., is a leader in the third-party logistics industry, providing a diverse service portfolio that enables commerce for businesses. The People Operations Representative plays a crucial role in implementing, administering, interpreting, and communicating human resource policies and programs to ensure maximum efficiency and adherence to company philosophy and procedures. This position is essential in fostering a positive work environment and supporting the overall mission of FedEx Supply Chain. The representative will provide consulting to management on employee relations issues and HR policies, assist in the recruitment process for both exempt and non-exempt candidates, and conduct new hire orientations. They will maintain employment records, ensure compliance with job postings, and manage performance appraisal and salary review processes to ensure fair compensation levels for employees. Additionally, the role involves investigating EEO complaints and employee relations issues, conducting exit interviews, and preparing reports for management. The People Operations Representative will also facilitate training and leadership programs, educate management on payroll procedures, and assist in the administration of personnel paperwork. They will prepare statistical reports and administer employee surveys, communicating results to management and assisting in resolving identified issues. This position requires a strong understanding of applicable laws and regulations, as well as excellent human relations and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides consulting to management on employee relations issues and HR policies and procedures.
  • Recruits or assists management in the recruitment process for exempt and non-exempt candidates.
  • Conducts new hire orientations and maintains the career opportunity program and employment records.
  • Ensures compliance with job postings and transfer/promotion activities according to company policy and AAP/EEO guidelines.
  • Provides guidance to management on writing job descriptions and manages performance appraisal and salary review processes.
  • Investigates internal and external EEO complaints and employee relations issues; conducts exit interviews and provides trend analysis reports.
  • Develops action plans to comply with the annual affirmative action plan and related reports.
  • Facilitates training and leadership programs and evaluates their effectiveness.
  • Educates management on proper timesheet and payroll procedures; resolves discrepancies as needed.
  • Assists management in the administration of personnel paperwork, including promotions, new hires, terminations, and salary changes.
  • Prepares statistical reports of trends and data necessary for management information.
  • Administers employee surveys, communicates results to management, and assists in resolving identified problem areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in human resources, business, or a related discipline required.
  • Three years of professional experience as a generalist, including experience with recruitment, employee relations, EEO/AAP administration, and management development required.
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and federal regulations required.
  • Strong human relations and communication skills required.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
