About the position

The People Ops, Business Partner I role is designed to provide consultation and support to a designated business unit within the organization. This position leverages a strong understanding of the business to assist in HR workforce planning, develop strategies to resolve issues, and enhance business outcomes. The role involves acting as a liaison between various People Operations functions and providing tactical support to supervisors and managers.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming employee queries in a timely manner.
  • Respond to requests for data from vendors, for audits and other employee-related requirements.
  • Serve as a backup to the benefits administrator, including COBRA notices and Form 5500.
  • Assist the People Operations Specialist with extending offers, pre-employment screening, and new hire paperwork.
  • Maintain all outgoing and incoming benefit files between HRIS and vendors.
  • Roll out programs related to employee recognition and years of service.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Participate in evaluation and monitoring of HRIS programs to ensure success.
  • Assist the payroll department in maintaining accurate employee records and processing payroll checks.
  • Provide timely information and education on HR issues for all levels of the company.
  • Educate, coach, and partner with managers on performance management and employee development goals.
  • Provide HR expertise in feedback, employee relations, development and coaching, compensation, and organizational development.
  • Participate in the continual development of HR programs such as recruiting, retention, compensation, benefits, and Learning & Development.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to champion a culture of excellence and employee engagement.
  • Lead core HR processes across products, including performance calibration and compensation cycles.
  • Analyze and interpret employee reports to guide decision-making and provide proactive solutions.
  • Partner with Learning & Development on training, development, career mobility, and job performance programs.
  • Educate team members on compensation practices and performance feedback.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of related experience and/or training.

Nice-to-haves

  • PHR certification preferred.
