About the position

At Industrious, our people are our most important asset, full stop. As our People Ops Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our employee experience and culture while optimizing our People processes. It's an exciting time to be joining Industrious as we were recently acquired by CBRE and are anticipating new opportunities and significant growth in the near and long term. You'll join an agile People team that is focused on moving the world of HR away from administrative work and into an employee experience function. You'll work on solving questions like: how do we lead the industry in creating an exemplary hybrid work model? How do we continue to nurture and develop our top talent into our leaders of tomorrow? This role will be based in NYC, and will require at least 1 day in the office per week (Wednesdays). The People Ops Manager role has the potential to touch many of the areas listed below. We know that you may not have extensive experience in all of these disciplines. We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in HR practices, a willingness to learn, and the ability to grow with our organization. If you have experience in some of these areas and are eager to develop your skills in others, this role could be perfect for you.

Responsibilities

  • Design initiatives that enhance the employee journey from recruitment to offboarding, ensuring every team member feels valued and engaged throughout their career with us
  • Manage payroll operations and benefits administration ensuring compliance, accuracy and alignment with employee needs
  • Enhance the functionality of an HRIS to work better for us and our teams
  • Analyze data to make recommendations on how to improve the employee experience or measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives
  • Ensure HR practices comply with legal requirements, stay up-to-date on employment laws, produce and analyze reports for leadership or other internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of competitive and fair compensation structures that attract, retain and reward our amazing talent
  • Develop and implement efficient people processes and policies to support organizational goals
  • Be a role model for the People team and a champion of our values

Requirements

  • At least 4-5 years of progressive HR experience; a bonus if you've done so within fast-growing organizations
  • Strong working knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws and compliance requirements
  • Hands-on experience in compensation management, and payroll & benefits administration
  • Experience with an HRIS (Workday preferred but not a dealbreaker)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional partners and easily establish rapport
  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to manage multiple projects or priorities simultaneously
  • Highly analytical and a strong problem-solver
  • Ability to establish clear policies while understanding the nuances of HR
  • Strong creative skillset; ability to create polished collateral
