About the position

The People Relations Expert at SAP is responsible for managing complex and sensitive employee matters, including involuntary terminations, restructurings, and performance management. This role involves acting as an end-to-end case manager, ensuring compliance with local legislation, providing consultation on sensitive topics, and collaborating with stakeholders to improve processes and manage people initiatives across North America.

Responsibilities

• Ensure execution of People Relations strategy as an end-to-end case manager.
• Manage individual employee cases requiring special focus and care.
• Ensure compliance with local legislation in the US and Canada.
• Provide consultation and manage cases related to sensitive topics such as workplace issues and performance management.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders while executing the People Relations portfolio.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and refinement of services.
• Manage people topics and initiatives relevant to the assigned region.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years' overall work experience, with 6 years in HR or equivalent business roles.
• Deep expertise in people relations practices, procedures, and policies.
• Strong advisory and consulting skills with problem resolution experience.
• Influencing skills and relationship building at all levels.
• Knowledge of labor/employment law related to the NA People Relations portfolio.
• Experience in conflict management and critical problem solving.
• High empathy skills and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Coaching or mediation qualification is a plus.
• Experience in managing restructuring programs and return-to-work programs.
