The specialist will also provide training and support to management and employees, contributing to a positive workplace culture and effective human resource practices.

Responsibilities

  • Administer programs to establish and maintain effective employee relations through uniform application of policies.
  • Audit assigned regions to identify employee relation issues and recommend actions to resolve them.
  • Coach and counsel management on employee relation issues.
  • Communicate proactively with field management regarding labor law.
  • Attend regional meetings and present human resource training on employment law topics.
  • Coach and counsel employees seeking HR advice or assistance.
  • Participate in disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans.
  • Coordinate training for new management personnel.
  • Assist in administering the merit rating program and reviewing wage changes for policy compliance.
  • Develop and implement Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Support recruitment of Branch Managers.
  • Coordinate service award and new hire orientation programs.
  • Review Personnel Action Requests for policy adherence.
  • Manage application reporting and perform other assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of employment and labor laws
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 2 - 5 years of progressive human resource experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suites
  • Ability to travel 25 - 30% of the time
