About the position

The Peoplesoft Systems Administrator IV plays a crucial role in a collaborative team environment, focusing on the installation, upgrades, testing, and maintenance of both new and existing computer systems, operating systems, and software applications. This position is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of the Peoplesoft application stack, providing both technical and administrative support. The administrator will be responsible for maintaining and supporting multiple Peoplesoft environments, which run on various servers including Linux, MS Server, and VMware, as well as managing the Web/Platform Infrastructure of Weblogic, SSL Certificates, and Oracle databases. The role requires a proactive approach to operational activities, ensuring maximum availability and reliability of the supported platforms and technologies. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Peoplesoft Systems Administrator IV will provide leadership and mentoring to other team members, sharing knowledge and best practices related to Peoplesoft System Administration. The position demands a strong ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies, as well as the capability to research and resolve complex software issues. The administrator will collaborate with vendors and other support teams to address product or infrastructure problems, ensuring that business processes and objectives are met through effective system management. The role also includes providing technical training to team members and business partners, acting as a consultant to manage, configure, implement, monitor, and diagnose issues within the integrated IT environment. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity and performance of the IT systems that support the organization’s goals.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the installation, upgrades, testing, and maintenance of computer systems and software applications.
  • Provide administration and support for the Peoplesoft application stack.
  • Lead and mentor team members in Peoplesoft System Administration tasks.
  • Maintain and support multiple Peoplesoft environments on various server platforms.
  • Research and resolve complex software issues in collaboration with vendors and support teams.
  • Install, configure, and manage computing systems and software to support business objectives.
  • Provide technical training to team members and business partners.
  • Act as a consultant for managing, configuring, implementing, and monitoring the integrated IT environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Seven years of experience in the implementation, operations, development, support, and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Experience with Peoplesoft 9.2 and staying current with updates.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure management techniques such as change management and problem management.
  • Ability to automate tasks and document processes for team use.
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve system performance problems.
  • Effective communication skills with coworkers and management at all levels.
  • Experience supporting technologies such as Network, Server, Web/Platform Infrastructure, Database, or Desktop.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with load balancers and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with Weblogic, OpenESB, Websphere, or IIS.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Proficient understanding of design, implementation, and sustainment activities of IT systems.
