About the position

The Associate position within A&M CFO Services is designed for individuals who are eager to work with private equity-held portfolio companies, providing essential solutions that help preserve and generate value for their businesses. The primary objective of this role is to enhance transparency regarding key drivers and business performance, thereby supporting the increase of cash flow and EBITDA. The Associate will play a crucial role in ensuring that private equity firms have credible plans and the capability to execute and deliver on financial outcomes. CFO Services encompasses several key areas of service, including Liquidity & Working Capital Optimization, Strategic Analytics & Planning, Performance Measurement & Management, Business Transformation, and Auxiliary Services such as Accounting Remediation. The Associate will be involved in data collection, validation, and analysis, which includes identifying, requesting, and processing relevant data to complete fact-based analyses. This role requires critical thinking to apply rules independently, ensuring the production of accurate and reliable analyses. The findings will be compiled into clear and digestible spreadsheet templates and presentation slides for client use. In addition to data analysis, the Associate will be responsible for project management and implementation, executing operational tasks independently, such as developing tools and templates for client use, and ensuring quality checks on their work products. Collaboration with team members is essential, as the Associate will engage in knowledge-sharing opportunities and view all interactions as learning experiences. A solid understanding of financial modeling, financial statements, treasury, and cash management is crucial, as the Associate will need to understand the cause-and-effect relationships within trial balance accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, validate, and analyze data relevant to client needs.
  • Identify and process relevant data to complete fact-based analyses.
  • Validate all data used in calculations and reconcile models and reports.
  • Compile findings into clear spreadsheet templates and presentation slides.
  • Execute operational tasks independently, including tool/template development and slide deck creation.
  • Quality check own work to ensure accuracy and logical flow.
  • Set up tools and utilize client software/apps to access client data.
  • Collaborate with team members and share knowledge effectively.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited 4-year college/university with a concentration in accounting, finance, or economics preferred but not required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in Accounting/Finance, Financial Due Diligence, Restructuring, Investment Banking, or Private Equity.
  • Experience in building integrated financial models and strong Excel/PowerPoint skills.
  • Possess financial modeling experience and a basic understanding of financial statements.
