About the position

The Private Equity Performance Improvement Director for CFO Services at Alvarez & Marsal focuses on enhancing the financial performance of private equity portfolio companies through digital finance transformation. This role involves assessing finance and accounting functions, implementing digital technologies, and improving operational efficiency to drive cash flow and EBITDA growth. The director will lead projects, manage client relationships, and develop actionable strategies to optimize financial outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess finance and accounting functions and implement digital technologies to improve efficiency and transparency.
• Lead components of projects with multiple service lines and manage smaller projects independently.
• Develop actionable conclusions from analyses and design cash-generating initiatives.
• Engage with clients to facilitate information gathering and guide client interviews.
• Proactively manage client expectations and minimize risks during project execution.
• Leverage industry expertise to guide teams and promote innovative thinking.
• Complete financial modeling and financial statement analysis to drive change management.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited 4-year college/university with a concentration in accounting, finance, or economics preferred but not required.
• Over 12 years of experience in accounting, finance, financial due diligence, restructuring, investment banking, or private equity.
• Experience in digital finance technologies, including RPA, predictive forecasting, finance analytics, and data visualization.
• Complete proficiency in financial modeling, data analytics, and presentation skills.
• CPA, CFA, MBA, or Master's Degree preferred but not required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience implementing digital tools for finance in large public corporations or mid-sized private equity-owned portfolio companies.
• Expertise in building predictive forecasting models.
• Knowledge of digital finance tools and vendors.
