The PEPI Process Industry Team focuses on serving middle market and large cap private equity firms throughout the investment lifecycle, which includes pre-acquisition due diligence, post-merger integration, and performance improvement initiatives at portfolio companies. The services offered by the PEPI Process Industry Team encompass a wide range of areas including Transaction Support, which involves commercial and operational due diligence, carve-out assessments, interim management, and post-merger integration. Additionally, the team focuses on IT Commercial Excellence, which includes revenue enhancement, margin management, complexity reduction, and salesforce effectiveness. Operational Improvement services are also a key focus, emphasizing rapid results, operational and process improvement, cost optimization, procurement and sourcing, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) optimization. Furthermore, the team is dedicated to capital efficiency, which includes asset reliability and productivity, supply chain and inventory management, and asset care planning. The PEPI Process Industry Team's focus areas include feedstocks, commodity chemicals, plastics, specialty chemicals and materials, food and beverage, basic process industries such as paper and textiles, as well as pharma and life sciences. Responsibilities

  • Lead teams through time-sensitive projects by structuring performance improvement plans and managing the process to completion.
  • Synthesize meaningful insights from data, facts, and discussions with clients.
  • Develop findings and make strategic recommendations based on analysis.
  • Work directly with clients to implement strategic and operational recommendations.
  • Provide transaction support including commercial and operational due diligence, carve-out assessments, and interim management.
  • Drive operational improvement initiatives focusing on cost optimization and procurement.
  • Enhance revenue and margin management through effective strategies and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience implementing operating and cost improvement programs and/or commercial and margin management improvements.
  • MBA and/or Masters in Science/Engineering from a top-tier school with strong financial analytical skills.
  • Hands-on consulting experience in relevant service areas such as chemicals, energy, or pharmaceuticals.
  • Previous experience with a recognized strategy or operations consulting firm is strongly preferred.
  • Strong written, oral, and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Structured project management skills, including time, team, and work-stream management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with private equity firms or relationships.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 80% of the time.
  • Hands-on industry experience in sectors such as agribusiness, specialty chemicals, or industrial.
