About the position

The Manager of CFO Services at A&M plays a pivotal role in working with private equity-held portfolio companies to deliver solutions that enhance value preservation and generation. The primary objective is to improve transparency regarding key business drivers and performance metrics, thereby supporting the enhancement of cash flow and EBITDA. This position involves hands-on engagement with clients to ensure that private equity firms have credible plans and the capability to execute and achieve desired financial outcomes. CFO Services encompasses several key areas, including Liquidity & Working Capital Optimization, Strategic Analytics & Planning, Performance Measurement & Management, Business Transformation, and Auxiliary Services such as Accounting Remediation. The Manager will be responsible for data collection, validation, and analysis, guiding team members in the information-gathering process, and ensuring that all relevant sources of information are explored. This role requires leading client interviews, asking insightful questions, and understanding the perspectives of various stakeholders. In addition to analytical skills, the Manager must identify knowledge gaps, challenge the status quo, and develop better assumptions. The role involves recognizing key business challenges, accurately forecasting liquidity needs, and assessing financial and accounting process inefficiencies. The Manager will also be responsible for project management and implementation, ensuring that project approaches, timelines, and deliverables are logical and accurate. This includes setting and communicating client expectations consistently and employing actionable plans to optimize working capital and improve transparency in processes. Leadership is a critical component of this role, as the Manager will leverage their experience to guide and promote innovative thinking within the team. They will recognize the current skill sets of team members and maximize their contributions while sharing knowledge and providing coaching. Financial acumen is essential, as the Manager will build and review financial models, conduct valuable financial analyses, and provide insights to senior management and board members.

Responsibilities

  • Identify risks and obstacles early and create contingency plans.
  • Leverage experience to guide and promote innovative thinking within the team.
  • Build and review financial models and provide valuable financial analysis.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited 4-year college/university with a concentration in accounting, finance, or economics preferred but not required.
  • 7-10 years of experience in Accounting/Finance, Financial Due Diligence, Restructuring, Investment Banking, or Private Equity.
  • Proficient in financial models, data analytics programs, and presentation skills.
  • CPA, CFA, or Master's Degree preferred but not required.
