About the position

The Private Equity Performance Improvement Manager at Alvarez & Marsal focuses on enhancing sales and marketing effectiveness within the Go To Market Excellence Group, specifically in the Software and Technology Services sector. This role involves supporting merger integration and driving performance improvement initiatives for private equity portfolio companies and corporate clients. The position offers opportunities for career advancement and skill development while working on high-profile deals across the deal lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Support the sales and marketing needs of merger integration across the entire lifecycle.
  • Drive sales and marketing performance improvement initiatives for Private Equity portfolio companies and corporate clients.
  • Assess and recommend optimal salesforce design and organization structure, coverage, and productivity improvement.
  • Evaluate time spent by salesforce on value-add activities and effectiveness of their customer interactions, and recommend solutions.
  • Optimize coverage based on sales resource type and Total Addressable Market (TAM).
  • Review and optimize a consistent sales process.
  • Ensure leads are efficiently generated and converted into profitable sales, holding sales accountable to KPIs and metrics.
  • Review usage of advanced tools and technologies including CRM to drive accountability and establish greater visibility into the sales pipeline.
  • Understand demand generation functions to ensure Top of Funnel activities are optimized to support the sales team.
  • Develop action plans to drive harmonization of organizations during merger integration.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional consulting experience with functional expertise in Sales Effectiveness and Marketing Optimization, ideally in the technology and business services industry.
  • Experience in M&A including merger integration, divestitures, and business transformation.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce for dashboards, reports, metrics, and analytics.
  • Program management and project management experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong initiative and drive with critical thinking skills.
  • Outstanding people development and management skills; ability to lead junior team members.
  • MBA and experience working with private equity and/or private equity relationships is a plus.
  • Flexibility to travel at least 75% of the time.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing sales and marketing performance improvement plans for companies outside of the M&A lifecycle.
  • Experience in modeling and analysis responsibilities.
