About the position
The Manager, Operations for the Process Industry Team at Alvarez & Marsal is responsible for leading performance improvement initiatives for private equity firms. This role involves working closely with clients to enhance operational efficiency, manage projects, and implement strategic recommendations across various sectors including chemicals, food and beverage, and pharmaceuticals. The position offers opportunities for career advancement and international exposure.
Responsibilities
- Lead teams through time-sensitive projects by structuring performance improvement plans and managing processes to completion.
- Synthesize meaningful insights from data and discussions with clients to develop findings and strategic recommendations.
- Work directly with clients to implement operational and strategic recommendations.
- Support transaction services including commercial and operational due diligence, interim management, and post-merger integration.
- Drive operational improvements in areas such as cost optimization, procurement, and supply chain management.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience in operating and cost improvement programs or commercial and margin management improvements.
- MBA or Masters in Science/Engineering from a top-tier school with strong financial analytical skills.
- Hands-on consulting experience in relevant service areas such as chemicals, energy, or pharmaceuticals.
- Experience leading teams and managing projects under time pressure.
- Strong written, oral, and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with private equity relationships is a plus.
- Previous experience with a recognized strategy or operations consulting firm is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on industry experience in sectors like chemicals, energy, or agribusiness is preferred.
