About the position

The Director of Merger Integrations and Carve-Outs at Alvarez & Marsal will lead complex client engagements focused on merger integration and divestitures, providing strategic insights and operational improvements to private equity clients. This role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of deals, from pre-deal assessments to post-close execution, while developing deep functional expertise and contributing to the growth of the Private Equity Performance Improvement team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver large, complex client engagements for private equity clients and their portfolio companies.
  • Identify key client business issues and determine client needs using innovative assessment techniques.
  • Evaluate and validate analysis, developing recommendations in the context of overall engagement.
  • Manage the Integration Management Office (IMO) focusing on areas such as Synergies, TSAs, and Day 1 Readiness.
  • Drive performance improvement assessments across enterprises and oversee implementation of recommendations.
  • Track progress against Day 1 and Day 100 objectives, adjusting strategies as necessary.
  • Participate in business development activities, including proposal development and public speaking events.
  • Coach and guide team members, participating in recruitment and retention activities.

Requirements

  • 10 years of professional consulting experience, specializing in merger integration, divestitures, and business transformation.
  • Experience in integration planning and divestitures is a plus.
  • Deep functional expertise in Finance & Accounting operations, HR/Organizational design, and Supply Chain/Operations.
  • Strong program management and leadership experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking skills and initiative.
  • Flexibility to travel at least 75% of the time.
