About the position

The CFO Services Senior Associate position at A&M involves working closely with private equity-held portfolio companies to deliver solutions that enhance value preservation and generation. The primary objective is to improve transparency regarding key business drivers and performance metrics, ultimately supporting the increase of cash flow and EBITDA. This role is crucial in assisting private equity firms to ensure that their portfolio companies have credible financial plans and the capability to execute them effectively, leading to favorable financial outcomes. The CFO Services team provides a range of services, including Liquidity & Working Capital Optimization, Strategic Analytics & Planning, Performance Measurement & Management, and Business Transformation. Auxiliary services such as Accounting Remediation are also part of the offerings. The Senior Associate will be responsible for data collection, validation, and analysis, which includes developing information requests tailored to specific project scopes and leading client interviews to gather meaningful data. The role requires identifying information gaps through trend analysis and pattern recognition, as well as challenging preconceived notions with fact-based analytics. In addition to data analysis, the Senior Associate will engage in project management and implementation, ensuring that all client deliverables are presented logically and accurately. This includes developing financial models, such as three-statement forecasts and liquidity forecasts, and creating client presentations independently. The position also emphasizes teamwork, encouraging a collaborative environment where diverse ideas are welcomed, and knowledge sharing is promoted. Financial acumen is essential, as the role requires the ability to build various financial models and provide insightful analyses that reflect the impacts on profit and balance sheets stemming from key operating levers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop information requests based on specific project scope.
  • Lead client interviews to gather meaningful data.

  • Investigate beyond initial answers and challenge preconceived beliefs with analytics.
  • Deep dive into relevant data to improve management reporting and develop reliable forecasting.
  • Create storyline messages using supporting facts and analyses, ensuring data accuracy and branding standards in presentations.
  • Review and provide inputs to all work products, ensuring client deliverables are presented logically and accurately.
  • Set reasonable timelines and expectations aligned with client needs.
  • Develop financial models, including three-statement forecasts and liquidity forecasting, independently and accurately.
  • Develop bespoke solutions with creative approaches during unprecedented times.
  • Promote a team environment where diverse ideas and opinions are encouraged.
  • Share knowledge and experience, providing coaching to teammates.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited 4-year college/university with a concentration in accounting, finance, or economics preferred but not required.
  • 3-7 years of experience in Accounting/Finance, Financial Due Diligence, Restructuring, Investment Banking, or Private Equity.
  • Experience in building integrated financial models.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
