About the position

The Senior Associate position within A&M CFO Services focuses on providing strategic financial solutions to private equity-held portfolio companies. The role is designed to enhance the value of our clients' businesses by improving transparency in key performance drivers and supporting the increase of cash flow and EBITDA. The Senior Associate will engage in hands-on involvement with clients' operations, ensuring that private equity firms have credible plans and the capability to execute and achieve desired financial outcomes. CFO Services encompasses several key areas, including Liquidity & Working Capital Optimization, Strategic Analytics & Planning, Performance Measurement & Management, and Business Transformation. Additionally, Auxiliary Services such as Accounting Remediation are provided to support our clients in achieving their financial goals. The Senior Associate will be responsible for data collection, validation, and analysis, which includes developing information requests tailored to specific project scopes and leading client interviews to gather meaningful data. The role requires a deep dive into relevant data to improve management reporting and develop reliable forecasting. The Senior Associate will also be tasked with creating financial models, including three-statement forecasts and liquidity forecasts, while ensuring that all client deliverables are presented logically and accurately. Collaboration and teamwork are essential, as the Senior Associate will promote an environment where diverse ideas are encouraged and will share knowledge and experience with teammates. Financial acumen is critical, as the role involves building various financial models and providing insightful analyses that impact profit and balance sheets based on key operating levers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop information requests based on specific project scope.
  • Lead client interviews to gather meaningful data.
  • Identify information gaps through trend analysis and pattern recognition.
  • Investigate beyond initial answers and challenge preconceived beliefs with fact-based analytics.
  • Deep dive into relevant data to improve management reporting and develop reliable forecasting.
  • Create storyline messages using supporting facts and analyses, ensuring data and branding standards are maintained throughout presentations.
  • Review and provide inputs to all work products, ensuring client deliverables are presented logically and accurately.
  • Set reasonable timelines and expectations aligned with client needs.
  • Develop financial models, including three-statement forecasts and liquidity forecasting, independently and accurately.
  • Develop bespoke solutions with creative approaches during unprecedented times.
  • Promote a team environment where diverse ideas and opinions are encouraged.
  • Share knowledge and experience, providing coaching to teammates.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited 4-year college/university with a concentration in accounting, finance, or economics preferred but not required.
  • 3-7 years of experience in Accounting/Finance, Financial Due Diligence, Restructuring, Investment Banking, or Private Equity.
  • Experience in building integrated financial models.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
