About the position

The Senior Director of CFO Services at Alvarez & Marsal is responsible for working with private equity-held portfolio companies to enhance business performance and generate value. This role involves hands-on involvement in operations, focusing on liquidity optimization, strategic analytics, performance measurement, and business transformation. The Senior Director will lead complex business improvement projects, manage client relationships, and ensure the execution of financial outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Connect with Private Equity and client's Executive team to facilitate information gathering.
  • Assess critical issues and identify a path forward for the client.
  • Challenge analyses to ensure they are complete and accurate.
  • Identify gaps in analyses that affect solution recommendations.
  • Apply industry knowledge to identify business drivers and issues.
  • Develop complex business improvement plans and lead projects independently.
  • Deliver on Private Equity focused initiatives such as Interim Management Roles and Performance Improvement.
  • Manage client expectations and maintain long-term relationships.
  • Convince senior management of key business focuses and obtain buy-in for implementation plans.
  • Anticipate risks and reassess issues as plans change.
  • Identify finance and accounting weaknesses and provide remediation.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited 4-year college/university in accounting, finance, or economics preferred.
  • Over 12 years of experience in Accounting/Finance, Financial Due Diligence, Restructuring, Investment Banking, or Private Equity.
  • Prior experience as CFO in Private Equity Backed Portfolio Companies preferred.
  • Track record of successfully delivering complex projects and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in financial models, data analytics, and presentation skills.
  • CPA, CFA, MBA, or Master's Degree preferred.
