About the position
The Per Diem Chaperone for Off-Campus Activities at The Hotchkiss School is responsible for supervising and ensuring the safety of students during various off-campus events. This part-time position involves coordinating with fellows, managing attendance, and overseeing student interactions during trips, providing a supportive and safe environment for students experiencing residential learning for the first time.
Responsibilities
- Attend off-campus events with students and fellows.
- Verify attendance of fellows prior to departure and communicate it to the Dean and Director.
- Ensure fellows conduct periodic check-ins with assigned students during off-campus activities.
- Check every seat on the bus to ensure all students have exited upon return.
- Email fellows to confirm all students are accounted for in the dorm after events.
- Address emergent safety needs to ensure student well-being.
- Complete required online training in professional boundaries and safety protocols.
