About the position

The Patient Care Attendant (PCA) is responsible for performing patient care activities, including close observation of assigned patients and assisting with daily living activities. The PCA plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and clean environment, intervening to prevent harm to patients at risk, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and care workflow. This position may be assigned to various departments based on hospital needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform constant, close observation of assigned patients.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment according to hospital policies.
• Intervene to prevent physical harm to patients at high risk.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and care workflow.

Requirements

• Minimum of high school education desired.
• Previous health-related clinical experience preferred.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Computer experience preferred.
