About the position
Penn State Health is seeking a per diem / prn Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pediatric Med Surg Level I unit in Hershey, Pennsylvania. This role involves assessing patient health problems, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining medical records. The RN will provide care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled pediatric patients, while also advising on health maintenance and disease prevention. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including days, evenings, and nights, with a commitment to delivering high-quality care in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient health problems and needs.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients.
- Advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
- Administer medications and monitor for reactions and side effects.
Requirements
- Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
- AHA BLS certification prior to the end of the orientation period.
