About the position
The Per Diem Supervisor of Afternoon Sports at The Hotchkiss School is responsible for overseeing various athletic activities for rising 6th through 9th grade students during the Summer Portals program. This part-time position involves ensuring student safety, managing attendance, and facilitating sports activities in a supportive and inclusive environment. Supervisors will work Monday to Friday, with specific hours dedicated to afternoon and evening activities, and will be expected to prepare and implement plans for each sport.
Responsibilities
- Oversee athletic activities and ensure student safety.
- Verify attendance and communicate absences to the Dean/Director.
- Prepare daily plans for soccer activities including drills and scrimmages.
- Ensure students behave in a safe and sportsmanlike manner during squash, golf, and tennis activities.
- Assist students in golf etiquette and safety during play.
- Monitor fishing activities and ensure students maintain a safe distance while fishing.
- Ensure safe play during open gym activities.
