About the position
The Per Diem Vascular RN position at Fresenius Medical Care involves providing direct nursing care to patients undergoing vascular access procedures. The role supports the organization's mission and quality standards while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The nurse will work under the direction of facility management and collaborate with physicians to optimize patient outcomes before, during, and after procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care pre, during, and post procedure under the direction of the Facility Manager, Director of Nursing, and/or Charge Registered Nurse.
- Support and drive organization quality standards through meeting regulatory and accrediting body requirements.
- Obtain necessary medical history and perform nursing assessments on the day of the procedure.
- Monitor patient condition before, during, and after the procedure, especially for those receiving moderate sedation.
- Educate patients and their families regarding post-procedure care of vascular access.
- Document patient information accurately from admission to discharge.
- Administer medications and IV moderate sedation as directed by physician's orders.
- Assist the physician during procedures while maintaining sterile technique.
- Operate facility equipment and technology safely and efficiently.
- Assist with maintaining medication supply and inventory control.
Requirements
- Valid RN License
- BLS Certification
- High School Diploma or GED
- 4-6 years of related experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in surgical or vascular access environments.
- Proficient in IV insertion and cardiac rhythm recognition.
- Experience with medical database software and Microsoft Office.

- Experience in Office Based Surgical Center/Ambulatory Surgical Center/Vascular Access, Cardiac Cath Lab, or similar settings.
