About the position

The Per Diem Weekend CNA position at Good Shepherd Community Care involves providing essential care to patients at the end of life as part of an interdisciplinary hospice team. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive, consistent, and quality care in patients' private homes and residential facilities, primarily in Greater Boston and parts of Metrowest. This position requires availability on weekends and involves travel between patient locations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily hygiene and personal care activities.
  • Support patients with ambulation and exercise.
  • Provide nutritional support and assistance with toileting.
  • Perform dressing changes and other tasks as designated by the hospice nurse.
  • Deliver care in patients' private homes and residential facilities.

Requirements

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Massachusetts.
  • Minimum of 75 hours of clinical study, including classroom training.
  • At least 16 hours of supervised practical training.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hospice, palliative, or oncology care.
