About the position

Fusion Solutions is seeking a dedicated Hospital Billing and Professional Billing (HB, PB) Revenue Cycle Performance Analyst to join our team in Melville, NY. This full-time, permanent position offers a competitive salary ranging from $95,000 to $105,000 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in analyzing and enhancing the efficiency of the revenue cycle process across all entities within the client's Health Network. This position requires a deep understanding of revenue cycle management, data analysis, and the ability to implement effective strategies to improve revenue generation and operational effectiveness. As a Revenue Cycle Performance Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, reporting, and trending all related revenue data. Your primary duties will include analyzing revenue cycle data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement, as well as developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue cycle performance. You will also analyze dashboards, work queues, collections, allowances, and denials to identify patterns and recommend corrective actions. Preparing reports and presentations for senior management on revenue cycle metrics and performance will be a key aspect of your role. Collaboration is essential in this position, as you will work closely with finance, billing, and coding teams to streamline processes and resolve issues. Regular reviews will be conducted to ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies, and you will be expected to recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce revenue leakage. Additionally, you will provide training and support to staff on best practices and new processes, ensuring that the team remains updated on industry trends and changes in regulations affecting revenue cycle management. Your expertise will also extend to developing and maintaining departmental manuals and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze revenue cycle data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue cycle performance.
  • Analyze dashboards, work queues, collections, allowances, and denials for patterns, trends, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management on revenue cycle metrics and performance.
  • Collaborate with finance, billing, and coding teams to streamline processes and resolve issues.
  • Conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce revenue leakage.
  • Provide training and support to staff on best practices and new processes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations affecting revenue cycle management.
  • Develop and maintain current departmental manuals, where applicable.
  • Review aged trial balances and ensure accounts are handled efficiently.
  • Communicate patient-related information to appropriate departments as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulatory standards.
  • Manage the efficient use of the department budget.
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, healthcare administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of seven (7) years' experience in hospital patient access services including three (3) years supervisory experience.
  • Relevant certification (e.g., Certified Revenue Cycle Representative - CRCR) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
  • Experience with revenue cycle management, medical billing, and coding is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Advanced knowledge of related hardware/software and hospital registration/billing systems.
  • Proficient in Epic application.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology - CPT and ICD.
