About the position

The Performance Architect role is a long-term position based in Boston, MA, requiring a hybrid onsite presence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performance engineering, focusing on analysis, testing, and tuning within the Financial Services industry. This role demands expertise in various performance testing tools and methodologies, as well as strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with agile development teams.

Responsibilities

• Model key performance and volume metrics relationships.
• Utilize queuing network modeling and simulation concepts.
• Conduct load testing using tools like JMeter and LoadRunner.
• Develop scripts in languages such as Perl, Unix Shell, Python, Terraform, Chef, and Jenkins.
• Implement and manage JMS/IBM MQ messaging systems.
• Work with Restful web services, JSON, and XML.
• Manage relational databases, preferably Oracle.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, including testing with Jenkins.
• Communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
• Analyze performance in the Financial Services industry.

Requirements

• 5 years of IT experience in performance engineering (analysis, testing, tuning).
• Experience developing simulators in multiple languages (Java, PL/SQL, Python) for simulating performance load.
• 3 years of experience with JMeter, LoadRunner, or custom load generation tools.
• Experience with performance diagnostics/monitoring tools such as Dynatrace or AppDynamics.
• Strong performance analysis skills, including system metrics.
• Experience with multiple middleware and data store technologies.
• Knowledge of Linux OS.
• Experience in AWS cloud.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines on Jenkins and source control code/repository.
