About the position

The Performance Architect role at Fidelity Information Services involves working on complex issues in financial services and technology. This position is part of the OPF Project - Technical Architect Team, focusing on designing and developing enterprise software applications. The role requires extensive experience in J2EE application development and offers opportunities for mentoring and leading project activities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, review and present input on project activities and plans.
  • Design, develop, implement and maintain a series of programs, subsystems, revisions, and enhancements of current systems.
  • Convey architectural solutions to all levels of professionals and leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with established architecture, design patterns, policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for the development of systems.
  • Recommend changes on project design concepts to improve efficiency.
  • Develop design specifications, installation instructions, and other system-related information.
  • Verify stability, interoperability, portability, security, and scalability of Java system architecture.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of experience in J2EE application development, including 3 years as Architect or Associate Architect as an Individual Contributor.
  • Proficiency in Core Java, J2EE, ANSI SQL, XML, Struts, Hibernate, EJB.
  • Proficiency in solutions design and successfully architected enterprise software applications or products.
  • Demonstrated experience as application development lead or architect with decision-making responsibilities on architecture and design choices.
  • Ability to mentor, train, and coach Associate Architects and Technical Leads.
  • In-depth knowledge of designing and building applications using Service Oriented Architecture and J2EE security solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture and design patterns, with experience in using UML and modeling tools.
