About the position

The Performance Architect role is focused on enhancing system performance through analysis, testing, and tuning. This position requires expertise in performance engineering, including the use of various load testing tools and scripting languages. The architect will work closely with agile development teams to ensure optimal performance in financial services applications, leveraging cloud technologies and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Model key performance and volume metrics relationships.
  • Conduct queuing network modeling and simulation.
  • Utilize load testing tools such as JMeter and LoadRunner.
  • Develop scripts in Perl, Unix Shell, Python, Terraform, Chef, and Jenkins.
  • Implement and manage JMS/IBM MQ messaging systems.
  • Design and test Restful web services using JSON and XML.
  • Work with relational databases, preferably Oracle.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and testing using Jenkins.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.
  • Analyze performance diagnostics using tools like Dynatrace or AppDynamics.

Requirements

  • 5 years of IT experience in performance engineering (analysis, testing, tuning).
  • Experience developing simulators in Java, PL/SQL, and Python for performance simulation.
  • 3 years of experience with JMeter, LoadRunner, or custom load generation tools.
  • Strong performance analysis skills, including system metrics.
  • Experience with multiple middleware and data store technologies.
  • Knowledge of Linux OS and AWS cloud.
  • Experience working with agile development teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines on Jenkins and source control code/repository.
  • Familiarity with financial services industry.
