The Morning Star Company is seeking a Performance Data Engineer to join our team in either Woodland, CA or Los Banos, CA. This role is integral to our mission of enhancing data-driven insights across the organization. The Performance Data Engineer will be responsible for driving our data strategy, which includes the design, development, and management of enterprise reporting and business intelligence (BI) solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders to understand their business requirements and architect solutions that make data accessible, reliable, and actionable. In this role, you will be tasked with developing, optimizing, and maintaining complex SQL queries and reports to meet the analytical and reporting needs of different stakeholders. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining the overall BI architecture, which includes data warehouses, ETL processes, OLAP cubes, dashboards, and reporting solutions. Additionally, you will oversee the design and implementation of ETL processes to ensure data quality and consistency across the BI environment. The Performance Data Engineer will also manage API integrations to facilitate seamless data flow between systems and the BI platform. Collaboration with business leaders, analysts, and IT teams is essential to gather requirements and design BI solutions that align with business objectives. Performance optimization of BI systems, including tuning queries and managing the underlying data infrastructure, will be a key responsibility. Furthermore, you will establish and enforce data governance practices to ensure compliance with data security policies and regulations. Documentation and training are also critical components of this role, as you will create and maintain detailed documentation of the BI architecture and provide training and support to end-users. Staying current with industry trends and best practices in BI, data analytics, and API management is essential, as is leading BI projects from inception to completion, including planning, resource allocation, risk management, and delivery.
