About the position
The Performance Instructor (PI) at Lowe's Pro Fulfillment Center (PFC) is responsible for directing, training, and qualifying associates to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. This role involves training associates on operational tasks, equipment usage, and safety practices while also supporting the resolution of minor issues within the warehouse management system. The PI plays a crucial role in fostering a culture of safety and performance excellence among team members.
Responsibilities
- Direct and train Pro Fulfillment Center associates in safe practices according to corporate standards.
- Monitor staffing needs and adjust work assignments based on available resources and skill sets.
- Conduct all aspects of associate training, including new hire and cross-functional training.
- Train associates on the use of the Laser Radio Terminal (LRT) and vehicle mounted terminal.
- Certify associates on the proper use of warehouse management system job tasks for inbound and outbound operations.
- Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) periodically.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and demonstrate proper system usage.
- Coach and train market team customer service associates.
- Communicate with customers to resolve escalated issues and enhance delivery experiences.
- Observe and certify associates on equipment operation and performance improvement.
Requirements
- Experience training others
- Experience operating power equipment (e.g., forklift, yard truck)
- Proven record of complying with safety requirements
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills
- Demonstrated track record of consistent and reliable on-the-job contribution
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision or as part of a team
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office
